NoCry 18w Waterproof Rechargeable Torch light Review

A searchlight can basically be described as a torchlight that throws its beam a lot further away than that of a regular torchlight. It can also illuminate a much wider area than the regular one depending on how much the beam is focused. It is a little versatile gadget to have with you around your home.

If your daily routine demands that you constantly have to be outdoors frequently, then this NoCry 18w rechargeable torchlight is an essential piece of kit to have in your toolbox. A decent searchlight can be an excellent tool to have with you for different reasons like hunting, camping, hiking, leading a search as well as other domestic purposes and activities.

While researching for the best searchlight to buy, many people can easily get confused by the number of torchlight options available. It can get hectic going through review after review in order to choose a suitable one.

I am going to review a searchlight that will most likely end your search for a bright torchlight, giving you peace of mind when it comes to having the best searchlight possible for all your illumination needs.

NoCry is the torchlight company that came up with this excellent searchlight that can be said to have outclassed a lot of its competitors. They have also come up with lights are widely recognised around the world in search and rescue operations.

Key benefits and features

  • It has a super-bright 18 Watt LED light with three brightness settings and it gives a maximum output of 1000 lumens, also has a removable filter that enables both white and red light settings for low light requirements.
  • This searchlight is made with a long-lasting, rechargeable 7.4 volt 18,500 Lithium-Ion battery with serious storage power (3000 mAh). A full charge can be made to last longer than virtually any other flashlight – from 6 hours at 1,000 lumens to a massive runtime of 20 hours at a reduced 100 lumens ensuring that you don’t face any power problems when out and about.
  • It is made from tough, impact-resistant ABS and polystyrene that helps protect the light from drops and bumps while in use.
  • This handheld searchlight weighs less than a pound so it’s easy to carry and hold while walking or hiking outdoors.

Pros

  • This light has a foldable stand which is a good feature but the screws holding it up could be of better quality and could do with being replaced to ensure long term use.
  • It has a switch lock that prevents it from accidentally turning on in the gear bag.
  • It has a nice rubberised feel so rests securely on the edge of the counter and doesn’t get tipped over.
  • The size of this light is not as big as it seems in the photos, it is quite a manageable size.
  • I like that this it with both a car charger and wall charger, and the chargers have a green indicator light that lets you know when it’s fully charged.

Cons

  • The only challenge that you may face is the fact that you have to unscrew the back of the searchlight to charge it each time. However, it is worth noting that this is necessary to keep it waterproof.

This searchlight is quite comfortable to hold, I now prefer this trigger-style over a traditional flashlight because I think it is much more ergonomic. The flashlight also includes a detachable red light filter for 3 additional light options. The built-in red light helps your eyes adjust quickly to the dark and doesn’t disturb others, including animals.

The NoCry Rechargeable Spotlight is designed for a wide variety of heavy-duty uses because of its lightweight and compact size. You can slip it easily into backpacks for hunting, fishing, camping, hiking or walking. You can also store it on a boat, in a camper, or in your automobile.

With a charge that lasts up to 20 hours, this spotlight makes sure that you are always prepared for power outages, overnight camping trips and prolonged use in dark basements and attics. It has convenient eyelets and a cord tie making storing, packing and carrying this flashlight easy.

Not only is the flashlight water-resistant up to 3 feet deep, but the NoCry spotlight also floats to the surface of the water, making it easy to find and retrieve. The charging outlet cover must be properly closed for the flashlight to be waterproof.

On a final note about the customer service received from NoCry regarding their searchlight, some people complained that they received a defective torch. NoCry contacted each buyer and shipped replacements to each person who got the defective torch and they aren’t even asking for the defective torch to be returned.

You can’t go wrong choosing this torch cum searchlight.
